The Foundations
Partnership & Professional Background
Zehra qualified as a solicitor in 2016, joined Connaught Law in 2017, and rose to partnership on the strength of a practice built across immigration, family and litigation. All immigration work at the firm sits under her overall supervision — a mark of the trust her tactical judgement commands.
In Practice
Immigration & Asylum
Her immigration work runs from spousal, fiancé(e), visitor, ancestry and nationality applications through Skilled Worker visas, sponsor licences, intra-company transfers and indefinite leave to remain, to asylum appeals and judicial review. She has represented victims of torture, achieved successful pre-action outcomes against the Home Office, and settled appeals without the need for a full hearing — across the tenures of multiple Home Secretaries.
Family Law & Child Protection
In family law Zehra handles complex financial disputes on separation — business assets, pensions, spousal maintenance and Schedule 1 Children Act 1989 proceedings — alongside child arrangements and Section 8 applications, special guardianship, parental responsibility, prohibited steps orders, and urgent protection: non-molestation and occupation orders, including cases complicated by substance misuse. The approach is caring and considerate; the strategy is anything but soft.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution
As a general litigator she acts for claimants and defendants in breach of contract and complex financial disputes, deploying interim remedies — injunctions, security for costs, disclosure orders — through multi-level court proceedings, with a distinctive line in media-related litigation including defamation and libel. Early case analysis and sharply developed arguments mean many disputes settle promptly, on her clients' terms. Away from the office: hiking, baking and gardening.
