Our efforts to change the UKVI policy on Adult Dependant cases

Elderly Parent

At Connaughts, Mr Khan and team are dedicated to going above and beyond for every client that instructs us. Adult Dependant’s who have a genuine relationship with someone who is present and settled in the UK can apply to stay with the individual in the UK, however, typically these cases are being refused by the Home Office. The team are currently working on a case whereby the adult dependant application was initially refused with right of appeal to the First-Tier Tribunal, which was dismissed. Furthermore, we appealed directly to the Upper Tribunal. Unfortunately, this was also refused, with a right of appeal to the Court of Appeal.

Permission from the Court of Appeal has now been granted, allowing the case to be heard for a full hearing. Therefore, following this procedure undertaken by Mr Khan and his team, there may be a huge change in the policy guidance, along with the dynamic of the way the Home Office view cases to change. We look forward to the future of adult dependant cases!
